CBC and The
Zoot Theatre Company are collaborating with three
local communities to present a series of performances
that tell the personal stories of Dayton’s residents.
This project, Peoples’ Puppet-Play, will
be presented in conjunction with the 2010 Cityfolk Festival’s
material culture exhibit, About
Face: The World of Puppets & Masks.
The three participating communities and their community-based
partner agencies are:
• Twin Towers
– East End Community Services & Ruskin Neighborhood
School Center
• The Near West Side (including Wright Dunbar,
Wolf Creek, Roosevelt & surrounding neighborhoods)
– Wesley Community Center & Dakota Center
Inc.
• Walnut Hills – Cleveland Neighborhood
School Center
Groundwork for the community-inspired
plays is already in progress. If you are interested
in getting involved in the Peoples’ Puppet-Play
project, please contact the community project coordinators
your neighborhood, listed on this information
sheet.
