From his earliest days as a sideman with Lester Flatt, Doc Watson and Johnny Cash, Marty Stuart has been at the heart of country music. Stuart was one of the leaders of the New Traditionalist movement of the 1980s and 1990s, racking up numerous hit albums and singles including “Hillbilly Rock,” “Tempted,” “Little Things,” “This One’s Gonna Hurt You” and “Whiskey Ain’t Workin’” (with Travis Tritt). Born in 1958 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, Stuart is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a four-time Grammy winner, host of numerous country music programs on cable and public TV, historian, writer, record producer, photographer, radio host and an unofficial ambassador for “real” country music and the men and women who made it—an elder statesman for country music at the young age of 50. Stuart will perform with his band, the Fabulous Superlatives—Kenny Vaughan (guitar), Harry Stinson (drums) and Brian Glenn (bass). |
