The Cityfolk Festival and City
of Dayton Fireworks is a three day multi-cultural celebration,
featuring the best in traditional and ethnic music,
dance and arts from across the United States and around
the world. The Festival has multiple performance stages,
social dancing, traditional arts workshops, tastes from
many nations, family entertainment, art-making activities
for children and dozens of interactive and educational
experiences. On Sunday, June 30, the Festival will be highlighted
by the City of Dayton's Fireworks display. Above all,
the Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks is
a fun, inclusive, safe celebration--for everyone and
about everyone.

the dates for the 2013 Cityfolk Festival?
The Cityfolk Festival will be held
rain or shine, June 28 - June 30, 2013, at RiverScape MetroPark
and connecting streets in downtown Dayton.
Friday, June 28 from 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 29 from 1:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 30 from 1:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

When are the City
of Dayton's Fireworks?
The Fireworks will fill the sky beginning at approximately
10:00 p.m. on Sunday, weather permitting, and will last
approximately 30 minutes.

Where does the
Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks take
place?
The Festival takes place at RiverScape MetroPark in
downtown Dayton on the weekend closest to the Fourth

What is the cost
of admission?
Daily admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children 2-12 and free for children under 2. Discounted weekend passes are available for $17 per adult and $6 per child. Purchase yours in advance or at the gate.

What are the directions
to the Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks?
From I-75: All southbound and northbound I-75 ramps through downtown currently are closed. These closures are part of construction on the final phase of the I-75 Modernization Project, which will reconfigure the highway through downtown. Click here for suggestions of alternate routes. The Festival site is located north of First Street along the
river between Jefferson and Patterson

How long does it
take to travel to the Cityfolk Festival and City of
Dayton Fireworks from Cincinnati/Columbus/Indianapolis/Detroit?
Depending on traffic and other variables, travel times
to Dayton are as follows: Cincinnati, 60 minutes; Columbus,
80 minutes; Indianapolis, 2 hours; Detroit, 3 hours.

Where do I park?
Reasonably priced parking is available at several surface
lots close to the Festival. Some free parking is also
available at parking meters on surrounding streets.

Parking for vehicles with wheelchair
placards will be available on the north side of First
Street between Jefferson and Harries Streets and on
both sides of Jefferson between First and Monument Streets.
Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

What kind of weather
should I plan for?
The average temperature in early July in Dayton ranges
from 65 - 85 degrees F. Most July days are sunny and
hot. The Festival is held rain or shine.

for rain -- will the Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton
Fireworks be taking place as scheduled?
The Cityfolk Festival is held rain or shine. Festival
organizers may suspend or cancel performances if severe
weather threatens. The Fireworks display may be cancelled
or postponed due to weather.

Are wagons, skateboards,
inline skates, etc. permitted on the Cityfolk Festival
site?
There are certain items that are not permitted on the
Festival site. Festival organizers reserve the right
to alter carry-in policies at any time. Currently, these
items include, but are not limited to:
Alcohol
Coolers
Contraband
Pets other than dogs
Video equipment
Recording devices
Laser pointers
Weapons
Bikes, inline skates and skateboards
cannot be used inside the Festival site. Bike racks
are available on and near the Festival site.

Are cameras, video

for the purpose of documenting any artistic performance.

What is some good
advice for first time festival-goers?
- Dress in comfortable, casual clothing
- Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
or visor, and comfortable shoes
- Be prepared for inclement weather!
The Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks
sounds great in both rain and shine, and will only
be stopped if severe weather threatens.
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Always carry ID, important phone
numbers and any pertinent medical information in case
of an emergency
- Have fun!

Are pets permitted
on the Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks
site?
Dog are permitted as long as they are kept on a leash at all times. Please be considerate of other attendees and help us maintain a clean atmosphere. Pets other than dogs are discouraged. Pets are not encouraged on the night of the City of Dayton Fireworks display, due to the dense crowds that gather for it. Pet owners may be asked to remove any pet from the Festival site at the discretion of Festival organizers, the Dayton Police and/or Five Rivers MetroParks rangers.

The Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks would

more than 1,000 volunteers, representing every community
from throughout the region. We welcome your interest

Please note: All volunteers must sign a volunteer waiver
form. Volunteers are provided with an official volunteer
t-shirt, which must be worn during all shift(s).

How can I apply
to be a food vendor at the Cityfolk Festival and City
of Dayton Fireworks?
All vendors must submit a completed application with
a deposit. Vendors are chosen by the end of March. There are no vendor spaces for items other than food. For

How can I/my group
to be considered to perform at the Cityfolk Festival
and City of Dayton Fireworks?
The Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton Fireworks presents
traditional and ethnic performers only; no singer-songwriters,
rock or pop music unless there is a strong cultural
tie. Performances which include recorded music are not
likely to be considered. Participation is by invitation
only. If you feel you meet these criteria, send a promotional
package (CD or video, publicity shots and press materials)
to the address below. Materials are accepted all year-round;
booking for each summer's festival is complete by April
1. Materials will not be returned.

Can I/my group
perform on the street?
No. All performers on the Festival site must have prior
written consent of Festival organizers. Performance
of any kind without express written consent of Festival
could result in ejection or arrest. Dayton Police and
Five Rivers MetroParks rangers will patrol the site
at all times.

There are several ATMs at downtown banks located a few
blocks from the site. A map of these ATMs will be available

Lost and Found articles can be turned in to, and claimed
at, the Visitor Information Station. After the Festival,
these items will be held at Cityfolk.

What sort of food
and drink will be available at the Cityfolk Festival?
The Cityfolk Festival prides itself on the variety of
foods that are available. From grilled salmon to funnel
cakes, rice & beans to bloomin' onions, barbeque
to Italian sausage, there's something for all tastes--including
vegetarian fare. In addition, Pepsi products, Miller
Beer and select craft beers will be available for purchase. Water fountains are available in the RiverScape buildings.

What merchandise
