Long before there were chain coffee shops on every corner, serious coffee enthusiasts in Dayton had come to depend on Boston Stoker for all of their java needs, no matter how exotic. Started in 1972, the Vandalia-based company now has six locations in Dayton, Centerville, Springboro, Oakwood and inside the Dayton International Airport. The company sells to both wholesale and retail customers and offers coffee from Colombia, Kenya, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Indonesia and Hawaii—the only place in the U.S. where coffee beans are grown.

Boston Stoker sells more than 50 varieties of coffee, including specialty blends, dark roasts, flavored and decaffeinated, as well as Italian syrups for flavored coffee. The coffee varieties are available as whole beans (which are custom-ground for each customer) as well as a fresh-brewed cup of coffee. At the Cityfolk Festival, coffee experts from Boston Stoker will demonstrate how coffee beans are roasted.
