Led by an IBMA Award-winning
banjo player with a rock-solid bluegrass pedigree, Joe
Mullins and the Radio Ramblers is rapidly becoming
known as one of the top new bluegrass bands in the region.
Mullins, a veteran of such highly regarded bands as
Longview and the Traditional Grass, is the son of Paul
“Moon” Mullins, the fiddler and radio personality
who helped shape bluegrass in southwestern Ohio. Joe
Mullins is a radio personality in his own right, heard
daily on a network of three area stations he owns (WBZI
in Xenia, WKFI in Wilmington and WEDI in Eaton) as well
as a major bluegrass concert promoter, and his band
is hard-driving, traditional, exciting and uncompromisingly
bluegrass. Formed in 2006 to perform at promotional
events associated with Mullins’ “Classic
Country Radio” network, the five-member band has
already played at numerous festivals and concerts. The
band is currently working on its first CD.
