The Cityfolk Festival, the region’s largest multi-cultural festival, will take place at Riverscape MetroPark in downtown Dayton on July 3, 4 and 5 of 2008. Not only Cityfolk’s most complete showcase for a vast array of diverse onstage performances, it is also the centerpiece of the organization’s year round commitment to education. Along with hands on activities for families and programming specifically created for children, the festival focuses each year on a bottomless wellspring of folk traditions ranging from quilting, woodworking, musical instrument building, foodways, storytelling and more.
The 2008 festival will showcase an array of craftspeople who create with paper- representing traditions from Asia, Africa, Europe and across the United States. Curated by the Dayton Visual Arts Center, this component of the Cityfolk Festival will take place between 1 and 7 PM on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5.
