Jazz Piano Masters at the Dayton Art Institute
Made possible with support from the Miriam Rosenthal Memorial Trust Fund

Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 8 PM
Dayton Art Institute Renaissance Auditorium
General Admission $22

It would be difficult to find a pianist who has attracted as much attention in recent years as Bill Charlap, a young star who “has absorbed every pianist worth listening to in the past fifty years” (New Yorker). For this rare duo concert, he teams up with veteran tenor saxophonist Houston Person for an evening of great songs. Person’s deep burnished sound is a signature tone in jazz. A longtime Dayton favorite who performed here many times with the late singer Etta Jones, he makes an overdue return to duet with Charlap, performing music from their popular 2006 High Note CD, You Taught My Heart To Sing.
