Dave Greer’s Classic
Jazz Stompers specialize in the hot jazz of
the 1920s and 1930s. One of the best traditional jazz
bands in the world, this Dayton-based “territory
band” has performed regularly throughout Ohio
and the Midwest and points beyond for more than two
decades, playing the timeless music of Jelly Roll Morton,
King Oliver, Bix Beiderbecke and other jazz pioneers.
Highly acclaimed guest trumpeter Duke Heitger will join the Stompers for a red-hot musical
tribute to New Orleans soprano saxophone great Sidney
Bechet, recreating the memorable music he recorded with
trumpet/cornet legends Muggsy Spanier and Louis Armstrong.
